John Cratchley Dan is on fire at the moment...so many ideas spilling out onto this album...it feels very immediate and bold...

laing "Arc" is definitely not a clean, neatly organized jazz-rock album. It's raw yet smooth, unpredictable yet hits all the right buttons. It's great. Favorite track: Mysterium Cosmographicum.

Steve Lawson This is so so great - Dan's work always evidences equal parts creative genius and deep care and attention to detail. That the latter never smothers the former is rare. Beautiful experimental guitar music with killer drumming and some brilliant melodies :)

Laura Tenchio right now, I'm in a crowded bus with families and their children heading out into the forests, leaving the buzz of the city behind. I listen to "it grows on you" over and over again and I start losing myself in that track the more we get into the forest. Even the children are quieter now. I think it grows on them, too ;) Favorite track: It Grows on You.

I can hear the threads leading back to my previous albums, but in Arc they're woven into some other kind of strange and beautiful tapestry. Bewitching cello "looper" mixed like Ed Alleyne-Johnson did in early nineties but not on New Age way. Here it is as closer to J.S. Bach and his Cello Suite than Ed Alleyne. But the method is similar. A very relaxing performance brings ears to nirvana by sounding rich harmonics from her instrument. Siting quiet on a sofa savoring these sumptuous melodies taking my mind out of daily customs. This is what I feel while I'm listening to this album. Emmanuel Codden

I really can not express why I love this as much as I do. It is out-of-reach for a guy like me and hard to explain the feelings that I feel when I listen to it. The first McCraven album I bought a couple weeks ago ((4 to the right;-), I played it twice, just 2 tracks at a time... It's making me humble because it feels bigger than me, and careful because I don't know where it is taking me. And all of that, is the definition of art. At least, for me it is.... PlayItLoud!
